BRAND PARTNERSHIPS

Facilitated, designed, produced, and marketed multiple brand collaborations over the past 15 years on behalf of my brand, DQM New York, and on behalf of Vans. Commissioned friends, artists, designers, photographers, musicians, and tastemakers, to help me bring an assortment of unconventional projects and products to life.

Brands I have worked with to develop and market original products include: Nike, Adidas, Vans, HUF, Incase, Oakley, Outlier, Blue Note Records, MLB New York Yankees, Girl Skateboards, Crescent Down Works, New Era, Chocolate Skateboards, Casio, Journal Standard Japan, Mark McNairy, Ebbets Field, Lakai and Mast Chocolate.

Helped create some of the most loved sneaker collaboration products of all time, including the Nike Air Max 90 ‘Bacon’ and Nike x DQM ‘Monochrome’ Dunk Hi Perf.

Nike Air Max 90 Bacon by DQM

Originally released in 2004 to celebrate the opening of my first sneaker boutique, Dave’s Quality Meat, the Nike Air 90 Bacon remains one of the most highly sought-after Air Max styles of all time, consistently ranking as one of the greatest Air Max 90’s of all time. After pleas from Air Max fans to revive the 16-year-old colorway, Nike reproduced the 2004 design to celebrate Air Max Day in 2021 in a rare move to retro a shop collaboration.

Mimicking the different shades of colors that appear from raw bacon, the sneaker is composed of various shades of brown, red, pink, and off-white. With a combination of suede, tumbled leather, and mesh, this Air Max 90 brings a luxe feel to the traditional 1990 model.

Nike Tier 0 Dunk High Premium by DQM

Created an all monotone to the floor look for Nike’s classic Dunk High silhouette in an elevated fabrication: micro perforated premium pig suede with embossed DQM branding on tongue. The collaboration was produced exclusively for my store, DQM New York, in three colorways, Cave Purple, Industrial Blue, Ice Green, plus a private ‘Hyperstrike’ Black colorway. This was the first style Nike ever released to the general public with a ‘shop’ logo. Consistently listed as one of the best Dunks of all time.

Adidas Consortium Series by DQM

Created the design concept for Adidas’ boutique-exclusive Consortium release in 2010 using the iconic Rod Laver silhouette. The monotone shoes combined mesh and suede with a leather tongue and toe box and featured custom branding.

Casio G-Shock x Journal Standard

Partnered with Japanese fashion brand Journal Standard to create a Casio G-Shock watch featuring the officially licensed symbol of New York, the iconic ‘I Love NY’ logo, designed by legendary graphic designer Milton Glaser.

Outlier Cycling Jacket

Teamed up with outwear specialists Outlier to create a new lightweight cycle jacket available in three colors. Weighing in at less than one ounce, the jacket is fabricated with Japanese 32 gram poly ripstop, is completely windproof, features functional reflective hits on the front and back, and is packable into itself.

Consortium Series for Adidas Originals

Introduced a new, hard-wearing and water-resistant fabrication for an exclusive collaboration with Adidas for the boutique Consortium Series, designed specifically to handle the East Coast’s inclement weather. The ZX Runner was built in a New York blackout colorway with a webbed midsole and brass eyelets exclusively for DQM New York.

Crescent Down Works

Brought new fabrication and details including waxed canvas and corduroy workwear style collars to legendary Seattle-based performance outerwear company Crescent Down Works’ signature styles for an exclusive collaboration for DQM New York.

Mark McNairy x DQM

Created an exclusive collaboration with fashion designer Mark McNairy, decidedly introducing a new level of aesthetic to traditional skate brands. The project includes three exclusive shoe designs, a Navy Suede Long Wing Brogue, a Black Suede Chukka Boot, and a Grey Suede Cap Derby Boot, as well as a skateboard deck. Made in England, the shoes feature classic menswear styling and McNairy’s signature details such as the red brick and crepe soles. The skateboard design is inspired by McNairy’s Red Brick Soul and features a red brick base and white top with the DQM and Mark McNairy New Amsterdam logos.

Chocolate Skateboards x Mast Chocolate

Partnered with my friends at Chocolate Skateboards to celebrate two special Anniversaries: Chocolate’s 20th, and my store’s10th. Created a capsule including a skateboard and t-shirt with original artwork of NYC’s famous skate spot, Astor Place, drawn by none other than Evan Hecox, as well as a limited edition chocolate bar with local favorite artisan ‘bean to bar’ chocolate maker, Mast Chocolate.

Incase by DQM x HUF

Collaborated with premium bag brand Incase, as well as with my long-time friend Keith Hufnagel, to design a custom bike messenger bag for his San Francisco-based store, HUF, and another for my New York-based store, DQM.
